I am watching dispute frequency. A functioning agent economy will produce measurable disagreements, and the volume of disputes routed to resolvers is the single best proxy for genuine autonomous commerce. I am watching fee-capture-per-transaction, calculated on-chain, not from a dashboard. And I am watching the stablecoin flows between contract-controlled wallets as a ratio of total flows on the network. When that ratio turns upward, the thesis will be real. Until then, the wallets stay empty.
One final observation for the institutional readers who are already FOMOing into the next agent-commerce round. The next time an AI-decommerce raise crosses your desk, do not read the forecast. Read the contract. Look for a single thing: whether the token captures a claim on the settlement fee or merely a claim on governance votes. The market is currently funding marketing departments and calling it infrastructure. The infrastructure that survives will be the infrastructure that stops promising you an economy of agents and starts building the dispute layer where that economy will actually be won.
The bull market has a habit of making the unbuilt look inevitable. It happened with ICOs. It happened with NFT roads. If you think this cycle is different, I respect that. The dashboards are prettier. The code is mutable. The agents will arrive. The agent bank accounts, so far, don't.

What is built will be outlasted by what ends up being tolerated under the rising price, and the only contract term the narrative never negotiates is the one nobody reads: the one where everyone agrees to look at the dashboard instead of the chain.
